Tima J. Asp Death and Obituary Hackensack Woman Killed in School Bus Crash After Crossing Street

The community of Hackensack, New Jersey, is mourning the tragic loss of Tima J. Asp, 31, who died after being struck by a school bus while crossing a street Tuesday morning.

According to authorities, the incident occurred just before 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of South Summit Avenue and West Pleasantview Avenue. Asp, who lived in nearby Lodi, was walking through a marked crosswalk when a school bus making a left turn struck her.

Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and transported Asp to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Despite medical efforts to save her, she died the following day from the injuries she sustained.

Officials say the school bus was operated by a local transportation company and was in the process of turning when the collision occurred.
