The crash occurred around 1:28 p.m., near milepost one, where traffic had been slowed by a flagger due to ongoing construction. Ruth was driving her 2024 Hyundai Tucson when she was struck from behind by a 2018 Ford F-150. The impact caused her SUV to be pushed forward into a Toyota RAV4, which then collided with a Ram 1500. The sudden and violent chain of crashes left Ruth with severe injuries, and despite the rapid arrival of emergency crews, she was tragically declared dead at the scene.
The news of Ruth’s death has deeply shaken both the Plymouth and Willard communities, where she was well-known and loved. Friends, neighbors, and family describe Ruth as a kind, warm-hearted individual who had a genuine care for everyone around her.
